Candlemas Messiah 2020

On 1 February at 16:00, Holy Trinity Brussels holds its annual charity Candlemas Messiah by G.F. Handel. Proceeds will be divided between the Belgian medical charity, Les Projets d'Eléonore, and Holy Trinity Organ Restoration.

The singers are from Holy Trinity and other local choral groups. The musicians are friends of Holy Trinity who come annually to play for this charity concert.

This years soli are

·  Soprano: Auriane Sacoman is a Masters graduate in singing from Brussels Conservatoire.

·  Alto: Celia Stoddart is a choral scholar formerly of Newcastle Cathedral, currently of Royal Holloway College, London, and a future chorister of Norwich Cathedral. 

·  Tenor: Jonathan Halliwell is a former choral scholar of Selwyn College, Cambridge and Songman of Lichfield Cathedral.

·  Bass: Ian White began his musical career as a chorister at Peterborough Cathedral under the legendary Dr Stanley Vann. He now divides his time between teaching music at BJAB and singing in Canterbury Cathedral.

The ensemble is directed by David Mitchell, Holy Trinity’s Director of Music. 

This is a charity performance. Tickets are €10 and €5 for children (under 16) and concessions; sold at the door.

Drinks and snacks will be on sale during the interval and afterwards.
